This Privacy Policy explains what information the Hertz So Good Music Therapy mobile application (the “App”) does and does not collect, how audio files you choose are handled on your device, and the limited circumstances in which we interact with any third parties.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not download or use the App.

1. Summary (Plain Language)

• The App runs entirely on your device. It does not have a server backend.
• We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information.
• We do not use analytics, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting services, or trackers.
• Your audio files stay on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
• There is no account, no sign-up, and no sign-in.

2. Information We Collect

None. We do not collect any personal information, device identifiers, contact information, location data, usage analytics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers through the App.

The App does not send any data to HSG’s servers because the App does not communicate with HSG’s servers.

3. How Your Audio Files Are Handled

When you tap “Choose Audio File,” iOS presents its system file picker. When you select a file, the App:

1. Copies the selected file into the App’s private temporary storage on your device so that it can be read for processing.
2. Performs the pitch-shift (“tuning”) conversion locally on your device using Apple’s AVFoundation framework and the open-source SwiftLAME MP3 encoder that is bundled inside the App. No audio data leaves your device during this step.
3. Writes the converted file to the App’s private temporary storage on your device.
4. Presents the iOS system share sheet if you choose to export or share the converted file. What happens after you tap a share destination (for example, “Save to Files,” AirDrop, Messages) is controlled by iOS and the destination you choose, not by the App.

The App does not read, index, or transmit any other files on your device. It only sees the specific file(s) you explicitly hand it through the file picker.

Files stored in the App’s temporary directory are deleted by iOS when the operating system reclaims temporary storage, and are removed when you uninstall the App.

4. Permissions the App Requests

The App does not request access to your photo library, microphone, camera, contacts, location, motion sensors, health data, or any other iOS-restricted data category. The only user gesture required is your explicit selection of an audio file through the iOS file picker.

5. Third Parties

• Apple, Inc. – The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and runs on Apple operating systems. Apple’s platform (including the file picker, share sheet, and App Store itself) is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
• SwiftLAME (LAME MP3 encoder) – Bundled inside the App as a local library for MP3 export. It runs on your device and does not communicate with any server.

We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Facebook SDK, AppsFlyer, Adjust, Sentry, Crashlytics, Segment, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or any similar analytics or tracking service.

6. Data We Do Not Sell or Share

We do not sell, rent, lease, license, or share personal information with any third party for any purpose, because we do not collect personal information. For clarity: we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the App does not collect personal information from anyone, no collection from children occurs. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to us in some way, please contact us so we can investigate.

8. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store personal information about you, we generally do not have any information to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict. If you nevertheless wish to exercise a right under a privacy law that applies to you (for example, the CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, or UK GDPR), contact us at the address below and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

9. International Users

The App runs locally on your device wherever you use it. Because we do not collect or transmit personal information, no international transfer of your personal information takes place through the App.

10. Security

Files you select for conversion are held in the App’s private, sandboxed storage on your device, protected by iOS’s standard app-sandboxing and device-encryption mechanisms. Because no data leaves your device through the App, no in-transit or server-side security controls are applicable.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and post the revised policy at this location. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the App on the next launch.
